Vizler, Csaba, Ph.D.

as a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of AL specializes in the field of immunology and pharmacology. He got his primary education at the University of Szeged, Hungary, where he started his scientific career studying transplantation immunology and Graft-vs-Host Disease, then he extended his scientific experience at the University of Padova, Italy, where he focused on tumor immunology studies and experimented with innovative cancer therapies. In the INSERM, Paris, France he carried out research on transgenic animal models of autoimmunity. As a Principal Investigator at the Institute of Biochemistry of the Biological Research Center of the HAS, as well as a lecturer at the University of Szeged, he serves as pharmacology and immunology advisor to AHL. He is leading and supervising the development and production of monoclonal antibodies to AHL, especially focusing on ion-channels and intrinsic transmembrane proteins that are hard to structurally study but important postgenomic drug targets, not amenable for crystallization and X-ray diffraction. His current research efforts are concentrated on the use of animal models in the deployment of innovative drugs for the treatment of inflammation, chronic pain, and cancer.
